Your tracked items, alert targets, and extension history are stored locally in your browser by default — an account is optional. PriceDropCatch also contributes anonymous price snapshots (product URL, price, timestamp — no personal info) to community price history at pricedropcatch.com/p/. This is always on; you can permanently erase anything you've contributed anytime via Data → erase my data in settings. If you sign in, we only store the email you provide for passwordless login and cross-device sync. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes, your browser needs to be running for background price checks to occur. PriceDropCatch checks prices automatically at your chosen interval (default: every 60 minutes) while your browser is open. You don't need to keep any specific product tabs open.
Yes. PriceDropCatch has official downloads for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari on macOS. Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and other Chromium browsers can use the Chrome Web Store version.
By default, PriceDropCatch checks all tracked products every 60 minutes. You can customize this interval in the extension's settings panel — options range from 15 minutes to 24 hours.
